Great product!

I found this product accidentally when I went in our local medical supply store to buy a regular gait belt for my husband. They didn't have the small size I needed but showed me one of these fransfer belts. I bought it and I love it. So much more comfortable for him because of the width and easier for me with all the handles. So happy to have found it and delighted to learn I can just toss it in the washer when it gets soiled by his accidents.

Does the gait belt have handles on the back?

Yes, there are six handles: four vertical handles on the back and one horizontal handle on each side.

Is the transfer belt with handles padded?

The gait belt itself is not padded, however, it is four inches wide to displace any pressure from being lifted and reduce localized discomfort.

Where does the excess belt go for smaller waists?

When adjusting the waist belt, the excess can hang loosely from the non-slip buckle or be tucked under to keep it out of the way.

Does the transfer belt clasp go in the back or the front?

The metal clasp should be in the front, similar to a regular belt.

I am looking to transfer someone from a wheelchair to a chair or commode, will this work for me?

Yes, the transfer belt is designed to assist in transferring non-ambulatory individuals.
